Entering the tunnel.
Inside the tunnel. Both tunnels are one mile long.
Out of the tunnel.
Onto the bridge, out of focus.
There's not a whole lot of guardrail. Don't fall off.
Approaching the second of two tunnels.
It's the Chesapeake Channel Tunnel. Plans to twin the tunnels have long since put on the back burner.
It's amusing how my camera never seems to take a tunnel photo the same way twice.
And done with the tunnels. There's no touristy rest area for this tunnel.
It was really bright, I guess.
There are a few of these variable speed-limit signs around. Mr. Flashing Lights likes to adhere to the speed limit.
Somewhere in the glare is a W245 Mercedes-Benz B-class, which is available in Canada, but not the U.S.
Following the Canadian oddity up to the North Channel bridge.
Being newer, the southbound bridge has a more modern aesthetic.
Nearly invisible when driving by, surprisingly visible in grossly overexposed photo.
We're at the top, trust me.
Land ho!
We're on Fisherman Island, home to a national wildlife refuge and little else.
Some signage. Arialveticverstesk(™)
Welcome to the Eastern Shore, sort of.
We're almost done with the CBBT.
The first mention of Northampton County.
One more bridge.
There was some construction going on.
Northampton County again. We stopped at the rest area, but unless you want to see a dozen or so images of pure white, I'll spare you. And since once again, it took two hours to upload all these photos, I'll leave it off here. Next stop: Cape Charles!
